Damn silly thing to have had done in the first place.
You stuck a needle through your belly idiot…
take it out so it closes after you get the infection that you sound to have taken care of.
just go to the doctor and don’t make the same mistake again -_-
Go back to the piercer that pierced it, get a professional opinion. It might be infected, if it is you’ll need to see a doctor for some antibiotics – do NOT take the jewellery out while it’s infected.
In the meantime, clean the "crusties" off gently with a cotton wool ball soaked in warm (not hot) clean water. Clean around your piercing twice a day with a sea-salt-water solution (about 1/8tsp of salt dissolved in a cup of warm water) twice a day. Don’t use alcohol or peroxide to clean your piercing, and only use sea-salt, not table-salt.
Sorry I can’t be much help, I’ve had 20 piercings, but not one was a bellybutton piercing, so I’m not sure how they heal
amm i got my belly button done about 5 years ago and i got a bit of an infection i didnt go to the doctors i just put cream and took antibiotics for it and it cleared up within a week or so and havent had any problems since
. you should try cleanin it with sterile water and using a cream to help and if that dont work then i suggest going to see your doctor
hope this helped
Your skin is a protective barrier from bactertia and viruses. When you poke a hole in that barrier you take the chance of getting an infection. But you already knew that, so the next course of action is to see your doctor. Any infection runs the risk of becoming serious and I only posted above to educate others before they do something like this. Each person needs to make the decision on their own and weigh the risks.
The best possible outcome is that this is a minor infection. Worse case senario is flesh eating bacteria.
Pain, white/clear discharge, and crust (dried discharge) are normal parts of the healing process. These are not signs on infection, they are what happen when you get pierced in a sensitive area. If you really can’t deal with the pain, you can go back to your piercer & have them remove the jewelry, but keep in mind, the area is still going to be tender. Removing the jewelry won’t change the fact that the area has had a needle shoved through it. My advice would be to just take an ibuprofen & suck it up.
